A Clear Autism Evaluation Path After Developmental Screening

During a well-child visit, parents may bring up speech delays, social differences, sensory reactions, behavior concerns, or missed milestones, or a formal screening may raise the same questions. Either way, identifying the concern is only part of the work. Families still need access to a diagnostic evaluation.

Families who need an autism diagnosis are often told to expect a 6 to 18-month wait. With us, families can begin a physician-led telehealth evaluation within weeks rather than spending months on a waitlist. We serve children in multiple states, including Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William counties in Virginia.

  • When Screening Points to More Than Monitoring

Developmental screening tools can help validate a parent's concern or show when a child needs a closer look. After screening, though, families are often left searching for an available autism evaluation on their own.

Delays can hold up more than just diagnosis: families often need documentation before they can start speech therapy, occupational therapy, early intervention, school support, or care planning. With Entry Point Health Services, you can offer families a physician-led diagnostic option they can begin from home.

  • A Physician-Led Telehealth Diagnostic Process

Entry Point Health Services provides a full diagnostic evaluation grounded in developmental history, structured behavioral assessment, and physician review. Families share background information about their child's development, history, routines, and current concerns.

A Board Certified Behavior Analyst or Licensed Behavior Analyst gathers developmental and behavioral information during the process. A licensed physician reviews the clinical information and makes the diagnosis. Families can access autism testing for children without traveling to another clinic, and each role remains clear throughout the process.

  • Documentation That Supports Ongoing Pediatric Care

You remain part of the child's care after the evaluation is complete. When families return to your office, they can bring a report and recommendations that help guide conversations about therapy, early intervention evaluation and services, school support, IEP discussions, or other care needs.

The documentation gives parents more than just a verbal summary of what they've noticed at home. It gives them clinical information they can use to coordinate care across providers, programs, and school teams.

Entry Point Health Services doesn't replace pediatric care, but it does support the diagnostic process when families need a timely autism evaluation after screening, surveillance, or parent concern.

When a family in your care needs an autism evaluation after screening or due to parents' concerns, connect them with Entry Point Health Services for a physician-led telehealth option they can begin at home.
